Steve headed for the high seas with his sailing buddy, Jon, while Miranda and I went for a post-birthday treat: an afternoon at a performance of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver with our friends Jada, Anne, and Lenya. Steve's Mom left on Saturday after a two-week visit: we enjoyed her company so much--as always--now she's back in Ottawa, and next time it will be our turn (maybe next summer en route to New Brunswick)...
