Kitty Training!

No, this fluffy feline surrounded by Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends is not ours! These photos were taken at the Snug Cove home of our friends Richard and Anne and their daughter Jada. Don't the girls look alike? Actually, I remember at our Christmas party I kept mixing up Miranda and Jada--but I'd had a few too many mugs of mulled wine that night! Under the benign influence of tea and muffins (although I must say, Steve and Richard look to be having quite a spirited time in the kitchen), I had no trouble telling the little kittens apart this time.

Where the dogs of society howl...

Hmmm...Steve looks pretty serious here--this must have been before the guys launched (to the stupefied admiration of Lorna, Deb, Miranda, Carmen, and Wilson) into a jaunty rendition of Elton John's "Saturday Night's All Right for Fighting!" ...Good thing we got that piano--although someone (besides the children) would need to be sober enough to play it...

She's the Valentiniest!

Miranda's numerous art projects and cards from school made a fabulous Valentine's window display; we made the tactical error of giving her (and each other) gifts of enough Belgian chocolate to sink a ship, and now have decided we must resort to a desperate strategy of gobbling the rest of it furtively while the child sleeps...if she ever sleeps again, after all that chocolate! Blessedly, Nana Lorna is coming over tomorrow night so Steve and I can go out for a "late"-Valentine's dinner...(if we ever eat again, after all that chocolate)!

Say it ain't so!!!!

Nanny Carol boarded her plane back to Ottawa after three wonderful weeks with us! Miranda was appalled, and I must admit to feeling a little blue myself. Even Steve the stoic had a tear in his eye. Bye bye Nanny C! (See you in the summertime...)

HOLD THAT POSE!

Shutterbug Nanny Carol snapped her way through a whirlwind vacation, highlights of which included a shopping trip in West Van and Vancouver, our trip to Harrison Hot Springs, a good old-fashioned crab boil (on our deck!), and a "hen party" with our neighbours Claire, Cheryl and Raia one night when Steve went into town to hear a talk on gardening with Janie! Maybe Nanny will email us some photos--I seem to have been too busy socializing to take any!!!
