On the beach

Yes, even as we prepare for the Winter Olympics, it's beach weather here in BC... Steve took this charming photo of Miranda at Locarno Beach in Vancouver. Speaking of the Olympics, no, we don't have tickets to any sporting events--but we are going to the dress rehearsal of the opening ceremonies, thanks to Jonathan (he's volunteering at Whistler) on February 10. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow?

Way out there

This blurry image is from Steve's cell phone (photo taken on our property--that's our house crumbling away in the background--renovations are planned for the next few months), but you're not imagining that large tummy beneath the white winter coat (on loan from Uncle Merlyn for the season--it was made for him years ago in the Frozen North when he lived and worked up there). Approximately four more months of expansion and then (according to ultrasound readings) a baby sister for Miranda will arrive in early June. No doubt her somber expression here anticipates her impending dethronement...

Don't fence me in...

Miranda signed her initials in the cement after helping Steve install some fenceposts: the goal is to create a fenced yard that Tycho can't escape from. Despite his advanced years, our adventuresome canine has been spotted repeatedly in the Cove--and even as far as the Marina--so we need to either keep him tied up all the time or finish that fence project...and soon!

Everybody was Kung Fu fighting...

Miranda had a great time at her classmate Sam's house--don't they look like professional fighters? Or are they just hamming for the camera? Photos by Sam's mom (another Deb). It's nice to see my girl playing with someone of the other gender for change... who knows what else the new year may bring?...

Happy New Year 2010!

Here are Miranda, Lenya and Ellie--having a fabulous holiday playdate! We spent New Year's Eve at a neighbourhood party, and resolved NOT to make any New Year's Resolutions... To any and all readers of our blog, we wish you the very best for the year ahead: health, prosperity, love, and contentment! (and/or a nice cuppa something, and/or a good book--works for me!)
