You can't tell from the photo, but this stopsign-red poppy in our garden is about the size of Miranda's head.
She's still recovering from a big weekend, which was busy but great. A red-letter weekend!?
On Friday night we went over to Sue and Gil's; Steve is helping Gil build a tree house for Ellie and Josh (and I'm sure Miranda will be a frequent visitor). The funniest part was watching the guys stagger back out into the yard to do more work after a delicious steak dinner of generous proportions. Amazing, the soporific effects of red meat!
On Saturday, we were at Carmen and Peter's for dinner--no sooner had we admired the very elegant table--all set in white, when Steve spilled his red wine (and this is by no means the first time he has done so at their place!) all over the elegant linen table cloth. Was his face red!
But, on the plus side, I finally got my cheque (for writing a book review--amazingly I get paid to write sometimes!) from McGraw-Hill publishers. So, you guessed it, we're no longer in the red.
