We celebrated Mother's Day a week early to avoid a conflict with Steve's anticipated back surgery (a long-awaited discectomy). Miranda was less than thrilled to be stuffed into her party dress and photographed for posterity (kudos to John for setting up and taking this charming portrait of us three girls)--but the little Dickens enjoyed her daddy's succulent roast lamb dinner nonetheless; let's hope the upcoming operation won't compromise his skills as a chef! (But will he be able to play the piano?)... In any case, we're likely to be preoccupied next weekend, so happy Mom's Day in advance to all!
